Meet the Dynamic Couple of Kapolei Primary Care Clinic
IAN E. GUERRERO, MD
Fondly called Doc G or Doc Ian to many is an accomplished physician with a stellar resume in his portfolio. He is a proud graduate with honors from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. He was awarded the Most Outstanding Intern during his post-graduate internship at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital. Thereafter he went to complete his Internal Medicine residency at UST and established a very busy practice in Manila until he came to the USA to join his wife Mafe who is a registered nurse with a degree of doctor of nursing practice and board-certified.
Despite the many obstacles and hardships living in the USA as a new immigrant, Dr. Guerrero through patience, hard work, and determination became ECFMG-certified and was able to complete a rigorous Internal Medicine Residency at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and was once voted as it’s most outstanding resident of the month. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He went back to Hawaii and practiced as a primary care provider in Waipahu, an underserved community represented mostly by minorities. There he established a strong bond of physician-patient relationship built on competence, trust, empathy, and compassion. Every step of the way, he will advocate for the patient, a testament to his personalized approach to patient care. This has been his lifelong commitment and Dr. Guerrero is passionate about it.
Despite all the accolades and achievements, Dr. Guerrero remains humble and low-key in everything he does. Beyond the confines of his medical knowledge and experience, his other passion is volunteer work. He is currently leading the PMAH-Ohana Medical Missions Inc., which provides free medical, surgical, dental, optical, and humanitarian missions in the Philippines. He is also a volunteer of the Bayanihan Clinic without Walls offering free medical services to newly arrived immigrants without insurance.
In his free time, Dr. Guerrero likes to commune with nature with his wife through hiking and simply basking in the sea where he derives serenity, calmness, and sense of general well-being.
Dr. Ian Guerrero welcomes you and your family to Kapolei Primary Care Clinic, our doors are open to everyone.

She has developed her career as a Registered Nurse exclusively in a hospital-based setting. Bringing strong clinical knowledge, skills, and leadership from her previous roles as an ER nurse in the East Bay Area in California, telemetry in Arizona, and critical care at the Philippine Heart Center.
Expanding her career to become a clinician and support their vision of becoming an independent primary care provider, she graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, majoring in Family Nurse Practitioner. She is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Although she truly loves San Francisco, where most of her friends are, she settled in Hawaii, where she can enjoy the world-class beaches and lush mountains. An outdoor enthusiast, she loves hiking and spending time by the sea. She is also a fitness enthusiast, enjoying Yoga, weightlifting, body combat, and body pump classes.
